Editorial Policy
Editorial Policy for Ono.Jepang.org
This page explains how Ono.Jepang.org builds Japanese onomatopoeia entries, separates JMdict data from editorial explanations, uses processing tools, and reviews reader corrections.
1. Editorial Scope
Ono.Jepang.org is a multilingual learning reference that helps learners understand Japanese onomatopoeia and mimetic words.
It is not an official dictionary, academic institution, or authority for legal, medical, academic, or professional translation decisions. For those uses, verify with suitable dictionaries and expert sources.
2. Sources and Data Limits
The main lexical source is JMdict, limited to entries marked on-mim. Ono.Jepang.org uses relevant written forms, readings, parts of speech, and base meanings from that source.
The site does not publish raw dictionary data. Entries, search indexes, categories, types, and navigation data are prepared before publication as lightweight site data.
3. Ono.Jepang.org Explanation Layer
Indonesian definitions, semantic categories, search keywords, usage notes, comparison words, and onomatopoeia type labels are Ono.Jepang.org editorial explanations.
Labels such as giongo, giseigo, gitaigo, giyougo, and gijougo are learning aids for word function. They are not etymology claims, source-language claims, or detailed labels supplied directly by JMdict.
4. Tool-Assisted Processing and Learning Examples
Processing tools may help draft definitions, search keywords, short notes, learning examples, reading aids, or romanization. Tool output does not replace data limits, editorial review, or reader feedback.
Learning examples, when available, are aids for simple context. They are not corpus quotations and do not prove that an expression is always the most common in every context.
Public search reads prepared static data. It does not create or update data while a search is running, and it does not scan the whole corpus for each search.
5. Review, Corrections, and Updates
Language is complex. Meaning errors, stiff examples, awkward readings, typos, weak categories, or type labels that need checking may appear.
Reader reports are reviewed before public changes are applied. Not every suggestion can be accepted, and no specific reply or update time is promised.
